Exotic exteriors for Birmingham International Airport

A yearlong outdoor campaign is being run by Emirates Airlines to engage the passengers at Birmingham International Airport.
Chemistry Communications created, Starcom and Kinetic planned and bought, Clear Channel Outdoor booked the multi format campaign which involves the AirRail Link trains and 18 backlit units along the entire exterior of both terminals.
The campaign is to promote Emirates Airlines twice daily flights from Birmingham to exotic destinations in Africa, Australia, China, the Far East and Dubai The target segment is people who visit the airport but may be aware of the services provided by Emirates Airlines.
The two Birmingham AirRail Link trains, which run along a 585m long monorail track every two minutes between Birmingham International Airport’s passenger terminals and the airport rail station, will be internally and externally wrapped with features relating to each region, also displayed on digital screens within the trains will be complimentary footage.
The themes will change every six months featuring things like a Chinese ceremonial dragon onboard, African safari animals including a lion, monkey and zebras, are inside to be replaced by imagery from the Far East and Australia after six months.
A poster campaign on the exterior of the terminals will enhance this ambient activity.
Birmingham airport has two parking areas for long stay parking and three multistoried areas for short and medium stay parking. There is also a drop and go car park adjacent to the terminals convenient for dropping off passengers.
